Carnaby Street

26 February – 1 April 2010
38 Carnaby Street, London

Commissioned by ‘Carnaby’ to celebrate 50 years of fashion and music associated with the iconic street. The exhibition was co- curated with Amy de la Haye.

The main exhibit comprised a 3-dimensional timeline, which was inspired by the aesthetic of cabinets of curiosity. The items contained within this cabinet included unique historical documents and rare (today) mass-produced ephemera as well as very early objects borrowed from the Museum of Soho.

The illustrated imagery was created by Alice Smith. Reversing the traditional format of a catalogue that documents an exhibition, this exhibition was constructed to form a catalogue, designed by John Morgan Studio.
